The IwadeVillage.co.uk relaunch party at the Woolpack on Tuesday 12th July celebrated the new IwadeVillage.co.uk website with a visit from the Mayor, a birthday cake and a glass of wine.

A big thank you to the Woolpack for hosting the event. Thank you also to Mayor Ben Stokes for attending the event to draw the prizewinners for the £50 cash prize, a treatment kindly donated by Reflexology by Claire and a portrait session and 6 by 9 print kindly donated by stevenbeardphotography.com. Fiona Whiskin won the portrait session and Dave Rannard won the reflexology treatment.

When allotmenteers Ann and Mac (Patrick McDermott) were told they had won the £50 cash prize draw they immediately asked if it could be donated to the Iwade allotment fund as they wanted all the allotment holders to benefit. Just shows there are still acts of kindness in our modern world!

Thank you to the six strong focus group which was run in March - Claire Bird, Gemma Coleman, Steve Harris, Gemma Hunt, Mark Pugh and Dave Wastall (strictly in alphabetical order according to surname not in order of contribution!), who gave up their time to discuss their internet habits, how they used the previous IwadeVillage.co.uk / thought of it and what they thought of a draft version of a new IwadeVillage.co.uk. Their input was more valuable than I could have hoped and whilst I was unable to implement all their suggestions I hope it went some way to improve what I did deliver.

Thank you to Andrew McKenzie, Market Research professional at Thomson-Reuters and husband (behind every woman there's a man... really?!) who ran the focus group whilst I sat in the corner taking notes.

Thank you to all the advertisers who have supported IwadeVillage.co.uk and without whom it could not run.
And thank you to Janet Gregory who baked for the occasion!
And thank you to Steven Beard of stevenbeardphotography.com who photographed the event.

Also thank you to those of you (particularly if you are still reading!) who have visited the website since 2005. We are so cutting edge Iwade! Here's to many more surfing years in Iwade.

A massive thank you to Gemma Coleman (are you reading Gemma!) who generously gave me a lovely hand-tied bouquet on Tuesday. It brought a tear to my eye.

I think what I'm trying to say is ... Thank you!

One more thank you - to all the people who came to the launch party and to all those who completed a survey which will contribute to a batch of new changes to IwadeVillage.co.uk in September. Watch this space for an online survey so you can tell us what you think if you didn't complete one at the party.
